Line Canary

Line Canary and Obkio compared

Obkio is network performance monitoring with VoIP quality scoring. Line Canary places real calls to your phone number and checks what the caller hears. If you are choosing between them, you are probably solving one of two quite different problems.

When Obkio is the better fit

If your complaint is that calls sound choppy, drop mid-conversation, or degrade at certain times of day, that is a network problem and Obkio is built for it. Their agents measure latency, jitter, and packet loss continuously and will point at the hop causing it. Line Canary cannot tell you any of that.

Obkio is also the better choice for MSPs whose job is the network itself, across multiple sites and links.

When Line Canary is the better fit

If your complaint is that callers cannot get through, or that an option in the menu goes nowhere, or that your AI receptionist stopped answering correctly, no amount of network data will show it. The network can be perfect while the call routing is wrong.

Line Canary needs nothing installed and no access to the network. It dials the number, follows the steps you set, and texts you when the outcome changes. See automated IVR testing for what a check looks like.
