Line Canary

Phone menu mapper

See every option on a business phone menu without sitting through it. Enter a number and Line Canary calls it, transcribes the menu, and lists what each key does.

Free with a Line Canary account. The call lasts under a minute and uses one call from your plan.

Questions

How does the phone menu mapper work?
Line Canary calls the number from a US number, listens for up to 50 seconds without pressing anything, and hangs up. The recording is transcribed, the options are pulled out, and the recording is deleted.
Why do I need to sign in?
Each map places a real phone call. Signing in lets us limit use, prevent abuse, and save your maps so you can start monitoring an option later.
Does it map sub-menus?
It maps the options announced on the first menu. To check what happens after pressing a key, start monitoring that option and Line Canary will record where it leads.
Which numbers can I map?
US and Canadian business numbers, including toll-free numbers. Each account can map 5 numbers a day, and each number can be mapped once an hour.
What if someone maps my number?
The call only listens to your greeting and hangs up within a minute. If you don’t want calls from Line Canary, add your number to our do-not-call list and we’ll stop all calls to it.

Looking for a large company’s support line? The phone menu directory lists menus we have already mapped, with the key that reaches a person.

Want to test more than the first menu? Automated IVR testing presses the keys and checks where each option leads.
