Line Canary

Phone menu directory

The automated menus you hear when you call large companies, transcribed from real calls: every option, when it’s announced, and the key that reaches a person.

Nothing published yet

Listings appear here once a real call has captured their menu. In the meantime, the free phone menu mapper maps any business number on demand.

How the directory is built

Each page is the record of one automated call. Line Canary dials the company’s published support number, listens to the first 50 seconds without pressing anything, transcribes the recording, and pulls out the numbered options and the moment each one was announced. The recording is deleted right after.

A page is only published when the call captured at least 3 options, and it is called again about every 30 days so the date on each page means something. Lines that stop answering say so on the page. Any company can have its line removed on the do-not-call page.

Questions

Where do these menus come from?
Line Canary calls each published support number from a US phone number, listens to the first 50 seconds, transcribes the call, and lists the options that were announced. Nothing is typed in by hand.
How current are they?
Every listing shows the date of the last successful call, and each line is called again about every 30 days. If a line stops answering, its page says so rather than quietly showing an old menu.
Why isn’t a company listed?
A page only exists once a real call captured at least 3 announced options. Lines that only play a greeting, route by speech, or didn’t answer aren’t published.
How do I remove my company’s line?
Add the number on the do-not-call page. Its directory page comes down immediately and Line Canary stops all calls to it.
